I realized today that this team efforts has produced something, "catchup." In the old days, we had a couple of days to perform a task such as Special Projects. We mixed Special Projects and Class Work and we had time to do it properly. We also had our own stores and spent most of the week in them. So what you didn't get done today, you got done tomrrow. Well, that has change.
We get one day to cover three deptartments, and we won't see them for another week.
What the powers to be feel that with more people, you get more work done. Yet, reality it you get less work done at great expense. You have more hands touching the product. Think about it. You have two people touching the same box. You have one to take the box out of the overhead and the other to put it on the shelf. If for instance you had to take twenty boxes out of the overhead, I could see, but let's say five. I don't know. I know that the powers to be might use the excuse such as training, but all I see this as always playing catchup. While we have been on this road trip, the stores have been hurting. Example: we wasted two hours reseting a sand paper bay when we planned to reset Safety Tools. So that gets pushed to next week. It the mean time you don't what will happen next week or the priority will be next week. At least the old way I could plan for tomorrow.
So, in reality I am forced to one job and rushed do to another in a half ass way maybe even two jobs.
Also, you can't plan what to next week until you have entered the store. That store could be a total wreak from inatention.
